This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the conditions under which insurance policies facilitated through InsuranceBrand Pvt Ltd may be cancelled and the circumstances in which refunds may be issued. By purchasing a policy through our platform, you agree to the terms described below.
For Health and Life Insurance policies, policyholders are entitled to a Free Look Period of 15 days from the date of receipt of the policy document (or 30 days for policies issued electronically).
During this period, you may review the policy terms and cancel the policy if you disagree with any condition. Refunds during the Free Look Period are subject to deductions for stamp duty, proportionate risk premium, and medical examination costs (if applicable).
If a policy is cancelled after the Free Look Period, refunds (if applicable) will be processed according to the respective Insurance Company’s short-period cancellation guidelines. The insurer may retain a portion of the premium depending on the duration for which coverage was active.
Motor and other General Insurance policies are governed by strict insurer and regulatory guidelines. Refunds are generally not permitted once the policy has commenced, except in specific cases such as double insurance, sale or transfer of the vehicle, or total loss or theft, subject to insurer approval.
No refund shall be applicable if a claim has been made during the policy period.
Once a cancellation request is approved by the Insurance Company, refunds are usually processed within 7 to 14 working days. The refunded amount will be credited back to the original mode of payment used at the time of purchase.
In the event of a failed transaction where the payment is deducted but the policy is not issued, or in case of double payment, the excess amount is typically auto-refunded within 48 to 72 hours by the payment gateway.
